Snowdonia D2
Thank you for all the appreciation shown to yesterdays Snowdonia reflections, muchly appreciated.
A relatively easy day today made to look exceptionally hard. This is the 'practise' expedition but ive decided it needs to be treated as training - there's a key absence of core skills. Its pointless to penalise the kids for that and its easier to help them develop the tools they need.
Personally I think that the Award should be incremental and progressive - bronze, silver and gold should be reliant on completion of the previous level. But its not - so rather than bemoan that Im left to be impressed with these Chinese kids, 3000+ miles from home - brave enough to take part in a thing they patently dont understand, wandering through a country they don't know carrying backpacks the size of a fridge. Im not sure I'd have been up to that at their age.
I know todays blip is similar to yesterdays, but the highlight of the day was wandering into the stunning Crefnant Valley - somewhere Ive not been before. This picture really doesn't do it justice, a wild feeling valley with a fantastic Cwm headwall and this alluring llyn.
