Baby bump
Oh dear, we didn't have the best morning, at all.
Today was a beautiful day - so a walk was in order, which we did (it was very nice too).
Except before the walk, the eldest decided to climb into the push chair by himself, which he's done several times, this works brilliantly when I'm there to steady the push chair. It doesn't work so well when I'm not - it tips over backwards, as he (and I) found out.
Sprinting to his rescue, clutching the smallest, who got dumped on the gravel, which wasn't so great, the eldest was duly extricated. Great. Picked up smallest ready to put him in the push chair and get going....
.... and the eldest climbs in the push chair again - and it overturns, again. But this time, I try to grab it with one hand and hold the baby with the other. For reference, if you're ever in this situation, it doesn't work... especially when the baby arches his back and catapults out of your arms in reaction to the commotion - and lands on his forehead.
Thankfully, I was kneeling, so he didn't have a huge fall, but I can guarantee you there were tears all round - and I quickly had to work out how to rescue the eldest from the once again up-turned push chair and also deal with the smallest and the bump (well, dent) to his head. We did make it out on the walk, but I needed a sit down and cup of tea beforehand the smallest needed a lot of comforting and the eldest had some unexpected TV time to occupy him.
I had a little bit of explaining to the husband when he came home this afternoon, but the youngest seems to have forgiven me (and forgotten).
