Humphrey's Peak....

We had a 2 1/2 hour drive today to get down to the Petrified Forrest.  During the whole trip we were greeted with this magnificent view of Humphrey's Peak in Flagstaff.
   We had an incredibly wonderful, but long day.  We started around 9 am and had dinner after a beautiful sunset on Pintado Point  at 7:15.   This is beautiful country, with a long history dating back about 600 million years.....   that is not a typo error.  We saw evidence of when the North American Continent was at latitude 35, down near what is today known as Antartica.  The tectonic plates moved the continent we now live on to it's present location.....    Needless to say, I was stunned to see the geological data and references.  Arizona, at one time, 600 million years ago was under the ocean.   There is unbelievable history here!
