Spring is here at last - another warm day. The daffodils (for some reason referred to as Tobys by Thomas and James) are lovely. Another gender difference - Ella says they look like dancers in pretty frilly dresses. "No they don't" said Nathaniel, "They are soldiers standing straight".

We had a lovely evening with our friends - great conversation, but I shouldn't have succumbed to the coffee as I was still awake at 3.15am, and Mr C was up and about at 6.30am. But it is a beautiful day, so I'm off out for a walk after picking a few for the table - more friends for supper tonight, then I think I have caught up. We are having Black Pudding with Pea and mint purée, then a one dish Chicken, Potato, tomato thing baked in a paste of chilli, garlic tomato purée and olive oil. Haven't decided on Pudding yet. Maybe Lemon Posset?
