New Park - Up The Escalator

There's a new park in Brisbane, right in the centre on Queen Street. It's a park with a difference, as it's on the 4th floor of a new office block, affording almost panoramic views over the city and river.

Here's the view in one direction from Hobbs Park, overlooking the elegant Customs House (1889), dwarfed these days by skyscrapers.

Under these blue skies, it's odd to think of the violent category 4 tropical cyclone Debbie wreaking havoc as I write, further north up the Queensland coast. Brisbane may get the tail end of it on Friday/Saturday in the form of heavy rains and strong winds, though it's expected to be much less dangerous by then.
