Grey Butcherbird

This Grey Butcherbird posed nicely on a bench in Bulimba Memorial Park (Brisbane) though I couldn't convince him to shift along a bit so that his head wouldn't be in shadow. You can, however, see the hook on the end of his beak. They're not called 'butcher' for nothing.

Tropical Cyclone Debbie is expected to make landfall on the north-east Queensland coast tomorrow morning Aus time. Already thousands have been evacuated ahead of flooding and structural damage warnings. I'm in Brisbane which is a long way south of the track of the cyclone though it may impact us in a couple of days with exteme rainfalls.
