Afternoon Mr Sheep

Home alone this evening as the husband has gone up to London, he went off this afternoon and will be back super late. We waved him off and went out for a wet walk - all in the name of getting the smallest to sleep, as he'd decided not to sleep at nap time.  The eldest loves being under the rain cover and had a great time, the smallest still held out on the sleep. There's a field of sheep we pass on every walk and this one was looking a little bit unhappy in the afternoon drizzle.

I'm reading a brilliant book about how the French bring up their children, aside from making the reader feel as if being an English parent is a massive handicap (but not as much as the American parent), it's brilliant.  Having just read a chapter about food and eating, it helpfully says that chocolate is a good thing, and that afternoon snacks can merrily consist of a line of dark chocolate in a baguette - my kind of afternoon snack.  Hot chocolate is pretty much encouraged, which I took to heart this afternoon and happily made one for this  afternoon snack for the eldest and he didn't drink it! I'm not sure how this reflects on my parenting or his taste  buds, I've very sure this will change one day though.
