Diary of an Edinburgher

Dicky Bag

I am still quite enjoying the new routine of lying a-bed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I just felt, after six weeks of not missing a class, that the supreme effort of squashing myself into a swimming costume, spending more than an hour in a not-very-warm pool while flapping about with a couple of dumbells was not worth the effort.

Took Archie up the Hill today for a change... not really, but it's usually the best option. There's no mud so he stays clean (bath yesterday), he meets lots of dogs, and we get views. And we have the new option of me driving the car and the other two having a longer walk home.

In the afternoon Archie and I watched a couple of episodes of VEEP before a round-the-block dander, while JR went shopping for hedge fertiliser and assorted items for Arch.

Here he is with his new 'Dicky Bag' for popping (used) poo bags into if when there are no bins. The girls used it at the beach the other day and declared it fab. It's very handy up Blackford Hill too. Archie thinks it's a very good idea, and wishes every dog owner had one.

Elizabeth, Archie's favourite walker, is on holiday in the US (based in Moab, Utah), and has been sending us beautiful photos of the most amazing rock formations - and she hasn't even reached Monument Valley yet. Very jealous.
