Grandfather's Watch
This one did belong to my grandfather and possibly his father too. I still have the little chamois leather pochette and two keys for it.
From the hallmarks the case was assayed in Chester in 1896 when my Grandfather was 10 years old. Perhaps a bit young for such a fine pocket watch.
The casemaker was Jesse Hallam of Coventry and the retailer John Hewitt and Son, London. I don't know anything about the movement but hopefully the watch maker in the village will be able to tell more when I take it to be serviced.
