Forest Flame

I have a number of these beautiful Pieris shrubs in my garden and at this time of year they are at their best with the young foliage bright red. 

In a few weeks the leaves will turn pink then cream and finally green when the shrubs revert to being rather dull until the small cream bell-shaped flowers appear again next spring.

A busy day tomorrow with a Choral Society rehearsal in the afternoon followed by our end of season concert tomorrow night .... need to look out my black gear and give it a quick iron. Although I often wear black trousers, I never wear black from neck to feet .... I think it makes me look washed out but it's what our choir director wants.
