Mute Swan

A lovely bright, sunny start to the day so before most folk were out and about I went up to the loch for some exercise before I am confined to my concert seat for most of the afternoon and evening.

The female swan is on her nest so only her mate was on the water today. Plenty of ducks and geese around but no sign of any nesting there. I spotted one female goosander but no sign of her mate. 

The extra shot (not particularly good) shows the goosander taking off just in front of me but as usual I couldn't get the the camera focussed quickly enough.
