Breakey Blips

Fun with the Breakeys

Sunday night at the end of a busy weekend. We are eating slow cooked pork and beans, with a loaf of fresh baked bread, baked by a kind friend.
The loaf suffered at the hands of the teenage carvers, leaving a sad squint cob of bread. The long suffering faces are following a joke from the little brother and the sister wanted to show scale and art around the bread. (??) Apparently the inclusion of the faded flower made the whole composition more "majestical" (to borrow a phrase from a recent NZ film).

I love it when we share a relaxed meal together. When there is a chance to laugh and recharge our batteries.

We are entering a season of "last year, this was when..." and I can feel already that the comparisons and the tough memories of illness, caring, lost opportunities and death are going to make the next 12 weeks a trial that simply must be borne some days.
But at the same time, each one of us has something exciting to anticipate in July. And it is in anticipation, that we know that we are truly alive and not just going through the motions.
