Glory!

We headed over to Stockbridge for a brief visit to a very crowded market (but Perthshire asparagus!!) and then a pilgrimage to the posh allotment site at Inverleith to purchase one of the last bargain bags of seed potatoes at The Shed. The variety was Vivaldi or.....Vivaldi. OK, how about we try some Vivaldi this year?

Then we walked back via the Botanics and the Water of Leith as far as Powderhall. The populace of Embra were out and about, many of them evidently in the bright sunshine for the first time this year - they had a dazed, wondering aspect, gazing about themselves in a vague fashion and then flopping down on the nearest piece of grass. A little mild sunburn could even have been possible today, on our poor peely-wally bodies.

This is a snippet of one of two massive Magnolia stellata trees in the glorious Botanics.
