Making the most of our last day.
We had arranged to meet Stus Mom and Dad for breakfast at 7.30 this morning but after a late night last night (and a cock up with the alarm) we managed to sleep in. We had to vacate our room by 8.30 so after a five minute breakfast in the buffet restaurant we grabbed our bags and left the ship for the last time. We all got a taxi to the airport hotel where we had a day room. Stus Mom and Dad stayed and made the most of the pool and the lovely hotel, but Stu and I decided to go back into town.
Our first stop was Bugis street market where we managed to buy a few more bits of tat. We then headed to the Sands hotel where we went up to the skypark observation deck. I'm not good with heights and my legs felt like jelly the whole time I was up there but the views really were amazing.
While we at the Sands we had lunch again in the basement and then did a bit of shopping (the only thing we could afford to buy was some lollipops and they were 1.50 each). We attempted to walk back over the road to the Gardens by the bay but it started raining so we went back to the hotel giving us time to get showered and changed ready for the hours of travelling ahead.
I think we definitely saved the best till last as Singapore was by far my favourite of all the places we have visited over the last two weeks.
