Fly-By

As usual, the heron teased all day about his intent to fly or not to fly.  It would seem he loves to sit on the bank and just make you wonder if and when he's going to take off.  Usually, he does after you've quit wondering and gone on to something else.  This fellow was very busy today going from one spot to another so I was able to catch him in flight. 

I had an abundance of wildlife outside my door today: three deer, four mallards, several crows, a small herd of Canada geese, one squirrel, the heron, and an eagle who just observed from a high perch across the river but he was close enough for a picture (not a good one).
