Photographing foliage

Camera Club tonight was about taking close up pictures of plants using manual settings.  As I'm only just getting used to my camera the most successful ones I took were not entirely manual, but at each of these sessions I learn a little more about what I could be doing...

I thought I had my blip in the bag this morning when I took some pictures of beautiful droplets of dew on the blossom on my dog walk.  However the pictures (extra) were not as sharp as they could have been. But may now be better in the future...?
