Wray Castle
We'd joined the National Trust two days ago, it seemed the easiest way to get a parking place near the Britannia Inn in Elterwater Village, but then you think you ought to try and get some value for money for the £9.50 per month direct debit arrangement you've just agreed to, so off we went to Wray Castle for a fun afternoon out. Well, Wray Castle turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, it was just a weird run-down Victorian-Gothic castle that looked as if it'd been only half-heartedly converted from the youth hostel it should've been. Never mind, the views from the grounds were good. And fresh air was had.
