Joy and trepidation
The Food Hub lady greeted me this morning with a bag of food that was probably heavier than me whilst telling me that they've packed it with 'every vegetable imaginable'. Opening the bag on arriving at the office was a foodies delight: fennel, samphire, napa cabbage, purple sprouting broccoli, sprouts, leeks, chillis, shallots, amongst an array of other fruits and vegetables. I still find it hard to believe that all this delicious food was going to be wasted. After my initial joy came the terror. What on earth am I going to make with the (slightly fussy) young people tomorrow? I think it was easier on the lean weeks where we had to base the menu on one or two items. This mass of food is giving me cause for concern. At the moment I'm thinking of a medley of little indian dishes but not sure.
In other news, we had the first of our Easter assemblies this morning in our favourite school with our favourite teacher. Joy! We fed a couple of kids some chocolate and talked about Jesus.
