Lacocking
This morning I took the boys to a local (ish) National Trust property (in fact, Abbey whole village and gardens). We had a brilliant time. The village is utterly picturesque and some beautiful looking shops - some aimed 100% at foreign tourists, such as the bakery complete with the serving lady in victorian clothes.
The weather helped our day hugely - we couldn't actually go into the Abbey, as they don't allow push chairs in due to potential damage to the flooring, so we had a lovely time outside. The eldest insisted on sitting on every park bench, with me having to sit next to him. We had a picnic in the orchard, and for most of the time had it to ourselves. The youngest is well on his way to eating us out of house and home, he very happily sat scoffing away whilst the eldest loved the freedom of eating outside and not having his mother telling him to sit down all the time.
On the way back, we picked the husband up and had an hour or so in the garden before reality beckoned and he was back to the desk.
I invited a friend to come with us - she couldn't make it, but wished me happy Lacoking - we decided that it sounded distinctly naughty.
