Science Festival

Rugby this morning.  That’s another term done, three terms so far I think!  We’ve signed up for another it has been good.  Then we’ll have to see what happens as we are awaiting the news of CyclopsJnr’s nursery place for August.  Assuming he gets in the nursery at the local primary school (fingers crossed) there’s about six options of days/hours we might be offered – so who knows when and if we’ll be free for rugby.

After lunch and nap we went out for an adventure.  It is always called an adventure when we go upstairs on the bus, according to CyclopsJnr.

So we took a trip on the bus (upstairs, front seat) to the National Museum of Scotland to see what they had going on for the Science Festival.  They have a bunch of popup activity stands for kids which is brilliant, but honestly there wasn’t all that much that was genuinely age-appropriate and engaging for CyclopsJnr.  Despite it being advertised as ‘all ages’ it was more geared at very much older kids.  Loads of gaming and robotics and virtual reality and so on.  The best bit for us was a UV dark room where you could draw pictures on the walls in lights.  But I had to lie and pretend he was 3 to get him in.  Shh!!!  And this pictured music booth was OK.  Otherwise, well it was fine but mainly just because it was busy and colourful and there were things he could touch.  We had a nice enough time.

Then CyclopsJnr’s first Nandos!  Yum.  He liked his corn on the cob.

Home on the bus, upstairs front seat.
