Another expert guided walk this afternoon.
This one was about real Geology.
We live in an area which is full of geological interest. With different types of limestone laid down in different geological periods. In some place the beds have become vertical or folded right over so that you are walking on what was originally facing downwards. Then there are erratics of granite brought down by glaciers and left here when the ice melted.
The first extra shows our itroductory talk.
The second extra shows our organiser standing on very hard Urswick limestone with just behind hime piles of much more breakable Park limestone.
My final extra is just to show the extraordinary tenacity of plant life.
Finally I was astonished to find my 1000 blips entry had reached first place on the first page of popular. Thank you so much.
