Oh Megan

This is not the picture that I wanted to blip today. I managed to get half an hour on Luke's laptop before dinner this evening and was happy with two pictures that I had taken today one of Megan offering me a Mickey Mouse sticker and the other of a little old lady who had come out from behind a market stall to give a very disapproving look when motorists were blasting their horns due to a stand off in a blocked road. What happened to these pictures? Megan did, she banged away at the keyboard initially somehow managing to turn the screen through 90 degrees and then changing Luke's password so that we could no longer sign on. I'm sure we can fix it but there wasn't time tonight.

Spent the day mooching around the city and in between, Di had her hair coloured and Rachel had a massage. Whilst the ladies were going this, Luke and I went for a drink to an Irish themed bar. On sitting down a young lad of about 10 called his name, turns out to be one of his students whose parents own the bar. We had two beers and a plate of fries for Megan which came to 85 Yuan, about £9. When Luke went in to pay, the lad was at the bar and told Luke to forget it, he had already paid the bill; what a little gentleman.

When we went back to the hairdressers to rescue Di there was a little boy of about 6 sitting on a chair playing a game on a phone. He was the son of one of the hairdressers and was there for the day whilst dad put in a shift. Luke tells me that people in everyday jobs like this get 2 days off per month, that is the norm not the exception. A reminder of just how easy a life we have at home.

Home cooked dinner tonight. If anyone remembers one of my blips of a guy roasting coffee, he was the chef ably assisted by Carey. He is from Szechuan province so the food was rather spicy even though he says he had toned it down significantly. Very tasty, and I had goose for the first but not last time.

Oh and she can eat with those chopsticks, not bad for a two year old.
