for a Canal Fix

When driving long distances I always like to allow plenty of time. Usually this results in time to spare near the destination of Heysham Port.

It is a great pleasure to take a walk at the terminus of the Lancaster Canal at Tewitfield.  This is where the navigable canal comes to a halt next to the M6 motorway.

It is a quiet spot for canal boats but unusually this particular boat approached.

Needless to say I got in to conversation with the occupants and I could see that the boat was in good condition and had been hired locally.

I then walked on at a faster pace than the boat.  It is proving to be a very slow job to try and re-open this section of the canal towards Kendal.
