Tranquility

From dawn until dusk there was not a single cloud in the sky over the Lake District, and this photo of Grisedale Tarn at 6pm will always remind me of a rare and precious day. I walked a fabulous circular route starting near to The Traveller's Rest on the A591. It went via the valley of Great Tongue to Grisedale Tarn, then up and over St. Sunday Crag before dropping down into Patterdale. Next a left turn to climb up to The Hole in the Wall and onto Striding Edge and Helvellyn, before descending via Dollywagon Pike and Grisedale Tarn back to the A591. A wonderful day.
