Merlin's Burial spot

This afternoon, thechimp and I visited Drumelzier Village Hall where we are hoping to hold our joint "big birthday" celebrations in June.

Merlin is supposed to be buried at the spot where the Tweed and Powsail burn meet, which is just across the field from the village hall. I have known about this place for years but have never visited it so we decided to have a look today. There is not much to see except a thorn tree marking the grave which was planted here on April 1st 1996 to replace the one which was washed away in the 1920s.
