The Sanctuary

We are installed in our camp for the next couple of days in Alder Hey Children's Hospital.  The building is only around 18 months old and not only is it shiny and new, there are lots of thoughtful design elements that make it feel considerably less like a hospital than any other hospital I have been in. In particular, there seem to be lots of clever ways that sound is muted so even when it was really busy at lunchtime it was very calm. There is also  a lot of natural light and wood - including this interesting structure which is a quiet room called The Sanctuary. 

There is no other real news, unless you are especially interested that there was almost no traffic on the journey up and we made great time and that the M6 toll road is a truly fabulous creation.
