Is this the Quay?
It certainly is..........Southamptons recently opened West Quay 2........great place for socialising, with its eateries and cinemas.
This fabulous looking building, I think, has been primarily built to cater for the thousands of cruise passengers who come in and out of Southamptons cruise terminals, looking to pass a few hours ashore.
As you can probably guess we've spent today mooching around the City of Southamton, walking, looking at the various sights, drinking the odd cup of coffee. Then off to see the new West Quay....where we had a fab lunch, and a cheeky cocktail in Cabana, Rio street food, which was absolutely lovely! Bbq chicken skewers with fresh pineapple, red peppers, with toasted cocunut slaw and herby spiced skinny fries...highly recomended :-) I think we will be checking out the one in Manchester soon ;-)
Ive added another couple of extras, an old fashioned helter skelter, a view of the Aida Prima, a spanish cruiseliner and a statue of the Lord Mayor of Southampton from 1912.
The weather has been very kind to us again, although no where near as warm as weekend. Tomorrow is our last day down sarf......it looks like another dry sunny day :-)
