What a grey day!
A pretty miserable day, rain on and off, joiner in to repair a rotting bathroom floor. While he was here I got him to repair a rotten joist underneath the decking too, so that's another rotten (literally) job I won't have to do! On days like this you can see why everything here rots off so easily!
Had a meeting at Bid4Oban today, so had a good discussion about projects our Keep Oban Beautiful group might be involved in. It was a little disheartening to hear about all the excuses for not getting work done in Oban - apparently Bid4Oban offered to paint all the bollards in the town free of charge, having bought the grey paint which was the new bollard colour, but were told that said bollards belonged to Transport Scotland and not the council. TS said that they could only paint the bollards if they agreed to maintain them in perpetuity. Bid4Oban said that they would guarantee to paint them every thirty years (!) but were turned down, so they remain unpainted! Sometimes you can't give free labour away!
Anyway, on the way back up Jacob's Ladder I took a few pictures across the rooftops, so here's another Blip of the harbour, with the 'Isle of Mull', the 'Clansman' and the 'Hebridean Princess'. Not really a good day for a voyage.
