Splendid Isolation

Every time I drive to Buttermere and see this view, I am struck by the wonderful location of Wood House on the southern shore of Crummock Water. The backdrop of mountains looked particularly dramatic today. Fleetwith Pike stands on the left and Haystacks on the right. You can just see the summit of Green Gable to the left of Haystacks.
