The old and the new
The highlight of today was FMQ at the Parliament. Fascinating watching our politcians in action and this has been quite an important week too. After, N took us through to the Garden room restaurant for lunch. Unlike Westmoinster MSPs have lunch in an ordinary self-service restaurnt along with staff and any visitors lucky enough to be there. There was quite a lot of spotting people I recognised and whispering to Nic and S who they were. However, I didn't speak to Feorlean, didn't want to disturb him at his lunch. This is the second time I haven't said got your blip for today?' to him. He will be 3rd time lucky!
After lunch we were able to be in the chamber, although I've had that expereince before and then S's day was made when he met 'Come Dine with Me' T and got his photo taken with him. Nic got to sit in a 'thinking pod'. It was an enjoyable, and instructive couple of hours. It's important that my colleagues understand how the system works if they are to engage with it.
From the 5th floor you get a sense of the 'boats' that Miralles designed and also the relationship with the old building, Queensberry House. I like the Parliament building.
I caught up on 'stuff' before off to see Jon for the 6 weekly makeover. Political link there too - turns out he is coiffeur to the Darlings.
Came home in time for Tesco and a chat with #2 son, first for ages.
I didn't pack. Tomorrow is another day.
