A shadow of its former self

I was walking Zoe at Tyninghame this morning and taking shots of the trees that bordered the fields. The only problem was that it was difficult to isolate individual trees or clumps of trees. In the end I started concentrating more on the lower trunks of trees and on tree stumps. This one particularly stood out. The sinews of the tree were very evident and one could see that it was the victim of wind damage. I don't think I realised just how muscular trees can be.
