The Local

The day started dull, damp and with very low cloud. We did the weekly supermarket shop in Ulverston quite early and then Mr B set about installing a new tv in the kitchen. We have never had a tv in the kitchen but the previous owners had one mounted to the wall so it was case of looking at a hole with cables protruding or fitting another tv. Once done we went out for a walk starting behind High Newton and heading out past the High Newton reservoirs to Simpson Ground reservoir and back. It rained gently on and off so we got slightly damp. Finished in the Crown at High Newton which is probably the pub we would consider our local. Very pleased that they served two of the local Cartmel beers alongside beers from Hawkshead and Loweswater.
