Fog at The Tate Modern

I spent the morning recording vocals.

Gulli came up to town with me where we met my friend Nicola at Jazz After Dark to have a look at the sound system and figure it out. Nice to see the owners and Gulli was impressed with Sam's Artwork, he paints in oils and hangs his work up in the bar, Amy Winehouse went there when she was very young and performed there a lot and was very close to Sam so there are lots of photos and paintings of her in there.

We walked to the Tate stopping at the Southbank Centre on the way, we stumbled on a free performance by Randolph Matthews, he was looping his vocals, it was very good. We took Nicola in the singing lift, it has a choir singing that gets higher as you rise and lower as you go down, it sings the level 'level 4' for example when you reach your floor.

We stopped and sat on a bench and Gulli and Nicola had a hot dog each and we shared some delicious mini donuts from an Airstream mobile cafe.

There were lots of buskers out of varying ability but lovely to hear all the music everywhere regardless.

Then on to the Tate Modern where I was determined to see Fujiko Nakaya's  immersive fog sculpture, animated by a light and soundscape made in collaboration with Nakaya’s historic collaborators: Ryuichi Sakamoto and Shiro Takatani on the South Terrace. It was really cool, we all loved it, I took loads of photos.

We looked at a few Artworks afterwards including a massive book of David Hockney's work on sale for £1,750, the price includes a stand! It was getting late so we said goodbye and came home to delicious homemade curry by Max and Demolition man the movie. I bought Gulli a Guitar magazine at the station and he loves it!
