Broken oak

Okay, so I went back to Crab Wood today in search of green again, and I was doing really well until I found this wonderfully broken oak soaking up the late afternoon sunshine. In fact it was so sculptural I considered putting it in BW, but you know me, I don't really do BW these days and one of its glories was the colour, particularly the red of the heart wood. So I played about putting more colour in, then less colour, in but in the end you've got it straight from the camera. A case of not being able to improve on nature (at least not if you're me).

Oh, look, it's the weekend, and a sunny one. Life's not all bad, is it.. x
