I'll Take the High (Air) Road

Quite possibly like a kid at Christmas today!

Didn't know Steve was off all day today, as thought he was working in the morning, but he was off! So that was a nice surprise and got everything ready together for our little break away to Scotland.

Taxi over to Heathrow where we had the easiest time checking in, dropping bags, security experience. I love T5!! It is a superb experience when it works like a well oiled machine! Popped in to Giraffe for some lunch and saw some familiar faces of students and friends. Got "upgraded" to a better table with a view rather than the middle of the restaurant and was treated to a great lunch by the staff. Nice to know that I have had some impact on their working lives to get treatment like that - so, so nice to see them again and just pick up conversation.

Felt a bit strange walking around as a passenger. Said hello and introduced Steve to a good 10 people and felt as if I was looking around for work people the whole time. Don't think I will ever switch off from that place - even after 6 months!

Anyway I digress.

Great flight, smooth and no turbulence, landed and waited for out lift! Whilst waiting, a foreign family jumped into a cab and left a carrier bag on the back of their luggage trolley. I handed it in to left luggage! I would have felt rotten if we had kept it. It was a bottle of Sheridans (!yum!) and a box of cigarettes. Really hope they came back for them!

Arrived home to a mad house! Mum was looking after our neighbours little ones, 1 and a half going on 15 and their 6 year old. It was fab seeing them and the difference in them in 2 months was huge!

We chilled for the rest of the evening, caught up on gossip and shared a pizza. Perfect day. We are both feeling relaxed into holiday mode already!
