Song Thrush.
Not the world's best shot but today and this shot mark a bit of an ornithological red letter day for the garden. As some of the occasional readers will know I take part in the BTO Garden Birds Survey. What you do is record each week the maximum number of each species you see using your garden.
We see Song Thrushes maybe 3 or 4 times a year. This morning there was one as you can see out foraging on the grass. Then I noticed a second one almost hidden among the Irises near the feeding station.
So not one but two Song Thrushes. I can't ever remember seeing two in our garden together. Pottered about cutting the grass etc for the part of the day not taken up by following things up from conference.
