Reading the Other Person's Essay
This was only our second class session together. My students meet only once a week in the face-to-face classroom and this was Week 2 of this new semester. On the first day of the class they are assigned an essay project, so it was due today.
Before submitting their writing, each student read out loud the essay of the another student, so the two of them did a little bit of editing and proofreading with each other. This is one way to assist them with looking carefully at what they've written and with getting to know others in the classroom.
After teaching my two classes, I attended a workshop to learn about grant writing. The presenter was the head of our Grant Writing Department and he was very encouraging regarding the fact that lots of grant money is available and writing a good grant proposal is a key to being awarded the grant. So possibly searching for some grants may be in my future.
That's it for this day.
Good night from Southern California.
