'Best by ......' When ?????

Tins and packets of food get checked from time to time, but I don't know when I last emptied and checked my 'herbs and spices' Tupperware box!
This lot is destined for the bin - the bb date on the Rosemary is Dec 1999 but that is not the oldest - those little white tubs of Ground Cinnamon I used to sell in my shop - the price ticket on them reads 27p - no date on them but I closed the shop in 1987 - which makes them over 30 years old !!! ( I have some newer, in date, stuff which I do use but these had somehow got overlooked many years ago.)
