Hearings Management Group

The blip is my preferred photo for today of the silver birch presented to us by friends on our silver wedding 5 years Ago. It's shooting up and this morning the fresh leaves sparkled in the sun and wind.

The extra is of a meeting of the Hearings Management Group which I was able to sit in in for a hour or so. The group brings together from across the country children's reporters, panel members, AST members and officials. The agenda is wide ranging and practice in different parts of the country is discussed and compared. The quality discussion I observed was considering practice in excusing children and young people from attending hearings; the variety in quality and content of reports when received; and health and safety issues. Lovely to to discuss and action points taken to gather more information to better understand what is happening. A good productive meeting.
