A Day Worth Recording

Bedmaking

E's been beavering away at planting the new bed today while I've been knee deep in green paint.  The terraforming works a week or so ago were primarily to level and redirect that path in the distance - the one with the blue bucket on it.  It now disappears into the woods to the right rather than coming directly onto the mud-and-moss we laughingly called lawn.

The new bed incorporates a number of things including a 'replacement' tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera, not magnolia, dead centre of image but not very visible.  There's also a magnolia at the back of the bed as you see it.) which should eventually replace the one Norbert is carved into. I doubt we'll be here long enough to see it flower but past owners have planted for our benefit - we're just passing that on.

The grasses are somewhat of a bonus.  We picked up three last year at the Malvern spring show.  This is half of two of them, divided, a year later.
