Oriental Poppy

When I had the dogs out in their local area last Tuesday I noticed a large poppy bud, tightly closed and no sign of any crumpled petals just waiting to emerge ..... what a difference one week later ....... only one flower so far but an unmissable one as the large red petals open out in the sun. My own poppies have buds but I don't expect the flowers to emerge for some days.
