The inhabitants are well gone. I should imagine that many of them provided food for the abundant birds.

One more sleep. Tomorrow Blipmate and I depart on an 11 day tour up the North Island to Cape Reinga right at the top. I am hoping to be able to Blip but commenting may be sparse or non existant. It will depend on conditions and time.
