The Love Child Chronicles

Holding On For Dear Life

We have a squirrel family living in the trees around our home. Lately, they have been bombarding us with Hickory Nut coverings during our outdoor meals. This is gross. Seriously disgusting. Who wants squirrel spit covered, slimy green outer shell coverings raining down on their heads, plates, and into glasses of iced tea?

Today, the remnants of Hurricane Isaac made their way through New Jersey. It was very windy, and nuts, leaves, and other debris flew across our deck. At one point, I snapped this photo of a squirrel, hanging on for dear life as the wind blew this tree branch to and fro.

A bit of an amusement park ride for one of our furry assailants.
