Portrait of a boy awaiting....

.... parent - teacher interviews. He faced them with dread. For someone in what is supposed to be the most stressful year of school he isn't worried enough to be doing a huge amount of work - cruising we call it. Some of the teachers let him know that they hoped he would do more to reach his potential. One exciting idea was generated by a chance comment which led us to talk, at the end of our 3 hours of interviews (it takes a long time to see all the teachers of 3 kids) with a teacher who's son is now a successful furniture designer. He also didn't want to go to university but ended up there following an alternative pathway. This has generated a lot of interest from our disinterested boy.... stay tuned.
