When a picture can make me smile this much, it can only be a good thing - especially given the day we had.
The washing up fairy didn't turn up last night so that started me off badly. Breakfast was actually quite civilised despite the washing up, and despite Steve still being in bed. He gets to bed far too late at the moment, always working on something.
Steve went out, the boys were bored, I was knackered and feeling the decaffeination effect. Ben got half dressed, but once we'd gone downstairs to find his shorts he decided half dressed was quite enough and stayed like this! He decided his tiger feet would be a good thing to take down the garden, which is where I was headed for some peace and a sit down as Charley had fallen asleep in the wrap. He is gloriously funny, is Ben. Such a tonic.
Steve'd promised to be home for lunch.... Well, Ben wanted HIS lunch about an hour before Steve was due home so that was that. Charley wanted HIS lunch before Steve got home too, and that was after his nap and everything so we made and had sandwiches.
Eventually Steve got home having been to the supermarket for me, and eventually I got the washing up backlog cleared and the kitchen ready for baking and had a very theraputic afternoon making banana cake, mini chicken and mushroom pielets, and a cheese and onion pie. The pielets were SOOO good. And Steve made gravy which was particularly yummy too. Charley heartily approved! (Ben had cheese sauce and pasta. Of course.) Aaand then Charley got exceedingly grumpy and I didn't have time to clear up before taking him to bed. And I stayed there because it was comfortable and warm and pleasant and not even the knowledge of how dreadful a state the kitchen was in could drag me out....
