Look at my beautiful antennae!

This fresh male Duke of Burgundy posed for a short while to show off his beautiful striped antennae. They are on the wing (theoretically) now in the Chilterns despite the hail storms and frost overnight. They have to be tough little butterflies to survive for just a few days at this time of year, but I have everything crossed for some slightly warmer weather with sunny spells so they can mate successfully.
