Reading the morning paper.
Millie, my wife Jan and I had a great walk on the upper reaches of the River Nairn this morning before I get back into the last day of the Book and Arts Festival. Its been a fun week but I now want just a 'normal' day. Millie had her nose to the deck as usual. I'm sure she has no idea where she is as she reads the world through that tremendously sensitive organ at the end of her snout. This is one of the few times I have caught her in a near classical pose. The smell was of great interest as she stood still for nearly 15 seconds, approaching a record. She was then off, following the spoor. I would love to know what it was and I sometimes wish she could tell me.......or maybe not.
