...the dullest photo ever!

However, it shows how most of my morning has been spent; trying to get this thing working like it used to.

BT has upgraded our phone connection and moved it to a much more logical location. As a result the BT Hub has moved and consequently the Devolo powerline adaptor too as it connects to the hub via ethernet. Strangely though after it was moved the Devolo wireless network dropped to 5ish Mb/s whilst the BT hub was giving 60 to 70 Mb/s.

Lots of head scratching, internet searching, manual downloading and manual reading later the problem was solved. It was simply a matter of plugging both devices into the same plug socket rather than the two next to each other! Apparently the Devolo does something whizzy to the signal to reduce interference over the ring main and being plugged into different sockets didn't give the required benefit from this magic it does.

Speedy internet rays have been restored to all parts of the house !
