stone - enge

the torchlight procession for the Guild attracted about 100,000 people - I was invited to a Guild Party first then a group of us walked to town and managed to find a bench to stand on giving us a great view - we waited about an hour for the first float of 75! - THEN it was back to the magic of childhood as we waved and cheered. The queue for a bus home reflected the numbers attending as it snaked round - no extra buses had been made available - but the banter was amusing enough to stop the feet aching. Today we cycled to Avenham park to see the stalls and came across this lifesize blow-up stonehenge which was free for the kids to bounce on. Tonight it is the closing fireworks - and probably another late bus home.
