Divine Intervention

Up early today as we had to be out of the bunkhouse by 10.

We were some of the first at the Caingorm carpark as we started off to the top just after 10am. Managed to get to the vehicular house in just over an hour. Not bad going especially as the wind was so strong at points it almost stopped you in your tracks. After a brief stop we set off to the top and arrive 20 mins later.

We then decided to come down via Fiacaill -a Choire Chais and back to the car park.

On the way home I stopped to take a photo for this weeks blip Challenge on the word "DIVINE".

This is the19th century church of St Columba's at Inverdruie between Aviemore and Cairngorm. It was purchased in January 2000 to be the head quarters of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team.
Work to refurbish the fabric and to convert the internals started in March and the Team moved in on 9th December 2000. Externally the base is as it was before; it could not be altered in any way being a Grade B listed building, inside, is a different story, the building was gutted. The ground floor is heated by the latest under-floor technology. There is a sophisticated control and communications room, changing room, lecture / sitting room with adjacent kitchen, store and drying rooms. Upstairs are bunkrooms, a common room and toilets and showers.
I'm sure this was a divine church in its day and I'm sure there have been plenty of people on the mountain that have been hoping for some divine intervention from the volunteers of the mountain rescue team.

Arrived back home to sort out stuff you're my week in Poole and watch the Monza qualifying and GP.
